How Do Tankless Water Heaters Work? | R.S. Andrews Atlanta Plumbing Services
Tankless water heaters operate based on flow. What that means is when you turn on a plumbing fixture, when you turn on a faucet in your home, that establishes flow of water through a tankless water heater. The water heater then senses the flow. The flow sensor tells the computer of the tankless exactly how many burners to fire within the tankless water heater.
What that means is if you’re running one fixture, just one burner typically is firing, but if you’re running more than one fixture at one time, up to four burners can fire at the same time. What this does is it heats the water before it leaves the unit, therefore it’s endless hot water. You can never run a tankless water heater out of hot water.
