Clear the Air: How to Improve Air Quality

<_>

You rely on your HVAC system to heat and cool your business. While controlling your business’s temperature is important, the air quality is equally so. Even with a filter, your system still inhales a lot of dust and this dust ends up inside your business. The filter can only do so much. Don’t worry, here’s what you can try.

Reduce Contaminants in Your Home

In order to reduce any allergens in your business, you may want to eliminate the air particles responsible. To do that, consider an air filter or purifier. While your HVAC system may have a filter, it’s not going to account for the air quality indoors. It uses the same concept, where the air filter captures dirt and allergens before you breathe them in. The next option is a purifier. Purifiers work by removing gas, smoke, and other compounds from the air with ionization and electricity.

In addition to purifiers, if you have a problem with viruses, mold or bacteria, then you may need a UV germicidal light. These lights kill nearly 100 percent of all microorganisms. These lights last up to a year and keep your ducts clean.

Clean Out Your Ducts

If dust and debris find its way into your air ducts, you should have them cleaned professionally. Every few months, it’s a good idea to have your system and ducts checked for buildup. In some cases, you may want to have it cleaned more often. For instance, if your business has to deal with contaminants, mold or pests, you’ll want to clean your ducts even more regularly.

To keep your air quality clean indoors is important. Fortunately, there are steps that you can take to make the job a lot easier. Make sure to clean out your ducts regularly and to reduce any contaminants in your home.
